Founded in 1998
Cuvelier Los Andes is the Argentine estate of the Cuvelier family, owners since 1920 of Château Léoville-Poyferré, a Grand Cru Classé in Saint-Julien, Bordeaux. In 1998, invited by Michel Rolland, Bertrand and Jean-Guy Cuvelier joined the Clos de los Siete project and bought land at Vista Flores, Tunuyán, in the Uco Valley. The 55-hectare vineyard was planted between 1999 and 2006 at 1,000 metres altitude, farmed organically and biodynamically and hand-harvested, with Malbec at its core alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. The winery has welcomed visitors since 2007. Tours are personalised and run in small groups, Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm in Spanish, English and Portuguese, combining a walk through cellar and vineyard with a four-wine tasting and panoramic Andean views.
