History
Founded in 1976
Bodega Alfredo Roca is a family-run winery in Cañada Seca, on the outskirts of San Rafael, roughly 230 km south of Mendoza city. The building dates to 1905, keeping its original two-nave layout; the Roca family arrived from Spain and Italy in 1912 and has grown its own grapes ever since, while winemaker Alfredo Roca formally founded the winery brand in 1976, now led enologically by his son Alejandro. The estate focuses on Malbec alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Syrah and Petit Verdot, bottled under lines such as Fincas, Alma Inquieta, Parcelas Originales and Reserva de Familia. Visits require advance booking, Monday to Friday mornings, and include a history and winemaking tour, guided tastings, wine flights, and experiences like vineyard barbecues and picnics among the vines.
