LUJAN DE CUYO
History
Founded in 2003
Bodega Vistalba was founded in 2003 by Carlos Pulenta, third generation of a Mendoza winemaking family, on a family estate in the Vistalba district of Luján de Cuyo, at 980 metres above sea level. The building draws on local criollo architecture and is designed for gravity-flow winemaking, without pumps. Finca Vistalba grows Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Bonarda and Cabernet Franc, the basis of the Corte A, Corte B and Corte C blends; the Tomero and Gran Tomero varietals come from Finca Tomero in Los Árboles, Tunuyán, and the Progenie sparkling wines round out the range. Since 2021 the winery belongs to the D.O.C. Luján de Cuyo. Visits run Tuesday to Saturday by prior booking and combine a winery and vineyard tour with a four- or five-wine tasting, a blind tasting or a blending game. The Wine Bar serves sharing plates and wines by the glass facing the Cordón del Plata.
