History

Founded in 1925

Bodega Labiano is a family winery founded in 1925 in the Rama Caída district, about 10 km south of the city of San Rafael and roughly 230 km from Mendoza City. Established by Spanish immigrants, it is now run by the fourth generation of the Labiano family. Its own vineyards, irrigated with Andean meltwater, grow Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Torrontés, among other varieties, which are made on site. Open to visitors since 2002, it has become one of the most-visited wineries in Mendoza, welcoming more than ninety thousand people a year. The roughly one-hour tour covers the vineyards, the production area, a family museum, the cellar and a closing tasting, and it is offered free of charge with no reservation required (English-language tours do require advance booking via WhatsApp). The winery also runs its own shop selling wine and artisanal products.
