History

Founded in 1912

Bodega Florio is a family-run winery founded in 1912 by Italian immigrant Antonio Florio, in the Cruz de Piedra district of Maipú, one of Mendoza's most traditional wine-growing areas. It continues styles rarely made in Argentina today, including the fortified vinos generosos Marsala, Oporto (port-style), Moscato and Jerez, alongside traditional sparkling wines such as Gamba di Pernice and Nebiolo, plus red Malbec varietals. The winery opened to tourism a little over a decade ago: the guided tour walks visitors through the vineyards, with the Andes as a backdrop, and through the historic production areas, ending with a tasting of its different wine styles. The property also has its own Restaurante Florio and a wine shop. Florio welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday, with reservations taken by WhatsApp or through the WineObs booking platform.
