LUJAN DE CUYO
History
Founded in 1918
Bodega Cabrini is a family winery founded in 1918 by Italian immigrant Leandro Cabrini, who planted the first 6 hectares of Malbec in Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo. It is now run by the fourth and fifth generations of the family - brothers Fernando, Hugo and Mauricio Cabrini, alongside the next generation - across vineyards in Luján de Cuyo and the Uco Valley. The 1920 family house where the founder once lived now serves as a small museum on the property. A visit takes in the winery's oldest vineyard and the traditional production area before ending with a tasting inside the historic house. Cabrini makes Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon under its Cabrini and Leandro Cabrini lines, along with a fortified vino de misa (sacramental wine) that continues a century-old family tradition. The winery can be visited Monday through Saturday, with or without a reservation.
