History

Founded in 1999

Susana Balbo Wines, registered as Dominio del Plata, is a family winery founded in 1999 in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, by Susana Balbo, the first woman to graduate as an oenologist in Argentina and widely known as the queen of Torrontés. The Dominio Agrelo estate covers about 16 hectares at 990 metres above sea level, planted to Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, and is complemented by estates in Gualtallary, Paraje Altamira, Los Chacayes and Los Árboles. The portfolio spans the Nosotros, Susana Balbo Signature, BenMarco, Crios and Osadía de Crear lines. Visits, which always require a booking, take in the vineyards, the tank room, the barrel room and La Capilla, the micro-vinification cellar, and close with tastings of varying depth. Blend Art blending workshops, Argentine cooking classes and the Osadía de Crear restaurant complete the offer.
