History

Founded in 2008

Casa Vigil sits at Videla Aranda 7008 in the hamlet of Chachingo, Cruz de Piedra, Maipú. On the same property Bodega Aleanna makes the El Enemigo and Gran Enemigo wines, the project winemaker Alejandro Vigil —chief winemaker at Catena Zapata and the first Argentine to earn 100 Robert Parker points— founded with Adrianna Catena. The buildings retell Dante's Divine Comedy: an underground barrel cellar hung with Osvaldo Chiavazza paintings stands in for hell, the tunnels for purgatory and the light-filled hall for paradise. Guided visits with tasting depart at 9:30, 10:00, 11:00 and 15:30, ranging from a walk through the vineyards to Gran Enemigo Single Vineyard flights and a blending game. The Casa Vigil restaurant, holder of one MICHELIN Star and a Green Star, serves tasting menus built on the family vegetable garden. Booking through Meitre is required.
