Founded in 1998

Finca Sophenia is a boutique winery founded in 1998 by Roberto Luka, one of the first growers to plant vines in Gualtallary, Tupungato, when the area was still unproven terrain for wine. Its name blends those of Sophia and Eugenia, the founders' daughters. The winery makes estate wines from a single vineyard at 1,200 meters above sea level in the Uco Valley, focused on malbec and cabernet sauvignon with a fresh, mineral character shaped by altitude. Its lines include Altosur, Sophenia Estate Reserva, and Sophenia Synthesis, the latter made from selected single-vineyard parcels. A visit takes guests through the vineyard rows, the tank and bottling rooms, and ends with a five-wine tasting at the Wooden Bar, with several tasting packages available. Finca Sophenia was named among the World's 50 Best Vineyards by Forbes in 2025.
