History

Founded in 1968

Bodega y Viñedo Familia Giaquinta is a family-run winery in the La Arboleda district of Tupungato, in the heart of the Uco Valley, at 1,100 meters above sea level. Its roots trace back to the early 20th century, when Italian immigrant José Giaquinta and his wife María Genovese started out as vineyard contractors; the family began making and bottling its own wine in 1968. Today the fourth generation, led by brothers Emilio and Miguel, carries on the tradition across 75 hectares of estate vineyards. They produce varietal and bivarietal white wines (Chardonnay, Torrontés Riojano, Semillón, Pedro Ximénez) and reds (Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Bonarda, Syrah), plus a natural sweet wine. Visits include a guided walk through the vineyards and gardens, a small chapel and a museum of old winemaking implements, with a directed tasting and personal attention from the owning family or long-time staff.
