History
Founded in 1999
Finca Intimayu is a small family winery in the San Rafael department, in southern Mendoza. The property, where wine had already been made since 1930, was bought in 1999 by Juan Manuel Radivoj, who comes from a winegrowing family in northern Italy and Slovenia, and who bottled the estate's first vintage in 2003. The winery gained recognition for its Oro 2003 syrah-malbec blend, awarded several gold medals in 2005 and named wine of the year in 2006. It produces both young and age-worthy wines from malbec, syrah, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and bonarda, aged in oak barrels in an underground cellar. Current visiting status could not be confirmed from official sources: the winery has no active website, and its Facebook page appears as closed, so contacting the winery directly before planning a visit is recommended.
