History

Founded in 1992

Finca La Anita is a boutique winery in Alto Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, founded in 1992 by Manuel Mas when the area had largely been stripped of its vineyards. Since 2016 it has belonged to Swiss winemaker Bernard Fontannaz of Origin Wine. The estate covers 72 hectares at 1,100 metres above sea level, with vines averaging around 30 years on original rootstock, hand harvesting, and a pergola-trained Syrah block planted in 1947 that yields its signature wine. Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are all grown here. Visits run Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm, by prior reservation: the tour covers the vineyards, tank room and barrel room and ends with a five-glass tasting served with a cheese board. The open-air restaurant serves chef Andrés Isura's regional mountain cuisine, in paired tasting menus or à la carte.
