Cacheuta Hot Springs (Termas de Cacheuta)
Natural hot springs in the Mendoza River canyon, 38 km from the city. More than 20 pools between 20 and 43 °C, open every day of the year.
The Termas de Cacheuta sit on Route 82 (km 38) in Luján de Cuyo. Thermal water emerges hot from the mountain and feeds a complex with two independent operations: the Parque de Agua Termal — a thermal water park built for a family day out — and the Hotel & Spa, with its steam-grotto thermal circuit and an adults-only day spa that includes a criollo barbecue lunch. In winter (Easter to Sept 21) the park runs a reduced setup with the upper-level pools — about 6 indoor and 6 outdoor; in summer the 270-metre Lazy River, 4 waterslides and the riverside beach open up.

Getting there from Mendoza
By car via Route 82 · 45–50 min
Through Godoy Cruz and Chacras de Coria to km 38. The final stretch through the river canyon is part of the trip. On-site parking (≈ ARS 2,000/day).
By bus (Andesmar) · ≈ 1 h 10
About 15 daily departures from Mendoza’s main terminal (6:00–20:15), from ARS 6,000. Buses stop at the complex entrance.

The water: official temperatures
The complex publishes temperatures by sector: indoor pools 28–43 °C (year-round), upper-level outdoor pools 28–35 °C (year-round) and lower-level outdoor pools 20–35 °C (summer only). The interactive kids’ pool sits around 18 °C. The pleasure is in alternating — a scalding pool, the crisp mountain air, and back again.
Summer vs. winter
- Summer season (Sept 21 to Easter): the full park — 270 m Lazy River, 4 waterslides, river beach, a 180 m double zipline, 37 m rappel wall and climbing wall.
- Winter season (Easter to Sept 21): the upper level runs with ~12 pools (6 indoor, 6 outdoor), steaming away amid the snowy foothills. August is winter season.
- The Hotel & Spa thermal circuit operates in full all year.
What to bring
- Swimsuit, towel and flip-flops: the park does not provide towels or lockers (the hotel’s TermaSpa does include towels).
- Sunscreen and a hat: mountain sun is strong even in winter.
- A warm layer for getting out of the water in the cold months.
- Meat and charcoal if you plan to use the park’s first-come-first-served grills, or budget for the on-site restaurant and shop.
Combine it with Potrerillos
The Potrerillos reservoir is 10–12 km further along Route 82. Hot springs in the morning and an afternoon at the lake — or white-water rafting on the Mendoza River — makes the most complete day trip in the area. Licensed operators are listed below.

By Andesmar bus from the main terminal (about 15 daily departures, from ARS 6,000, ~1 hour) or with the complex’s official transfer, which leaves Plaza Independencia at 9:00 and costs ARS 44,000–46,000 with entry included.
Are they open in winter?
Yes — every day of the year, 10:00–18:00. In winter the park’s upper level runs (~12 pools, half of them indoor, water up to 43 °C); the Lazy River, waterslides and beach are summer-only. The hotel’s thermal circuit operates all year.
Do I need a reservation?
For the hotel’s TermaSpa, yes: 14+, an online cap of 10 people per day and mandatory advance booking (sold up to 90 days ahead; 48 h written notice to cancel). The water park sells same-day tickets, but summer has a daily cap so buying online is wise.
