History

Founded in 2001

Alto Limay is a boutique winery located at El Chañaral 800, in the Cuadro Benegas district of San Rafael, southern Mendoza, with its own vineyards irrigated by the Atuel and Diamante rivers. It currently sells its wines under the trading name Bodega Secreto Wines and its flagship line "Secreto de Nuestra Tierra," centered on Malbec in several styles (young, oak-aged, and rosé). The winery welcomes visitors Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm, by advance reservation. Offerings include guided tours covering the winemaking process from grape reception through aging, tastings of its wines, a five-course food-pairing experience, and a "winemaker for a day" activity where visitors blend their own wine from barrel samples. Founding year and exact vineyard altitude are not published on the site. This is a different, unrelated company from the similarly named Alto Limay winery in Río Negro (Patagonia), a Paul Hobbs and Familia Schroeder project focused on Pinot Noir.
